H.O.T. Clay presents an “Image presentation and discussion regarding ideas about design and ways to consider the visual organization of pottery surfaces”. Professor Linda Arbuckle will give the lecture at FAC 102. The event is free and open to the public.

 

Rubin Gallery Talk: Frida’s Fashion

January 29 | 3pm

The Harn Museum of Art presents a lecture by Eleanor Laughlin, UF Adjunct Assistant Professor of Art History. Laughlin will cover “Frida Kahlo’s issues with her physical body, the evolution of her signature style of dress, and provide socio-political context to explain the rise of her portraits to an iconic status”.

“A member of the Guerrilla Girls, masked avenger “Frida Kahlo,” will discuss how this group famously used provocative texts, visuals and humor in the service of feminism and social change.”

The event is free and open to the public. It will be held at Carleton Auditorium on the University of Florida campus.

Workshop|Language, Tone, and Substance: Strategies for Funding Your Art Practice

“The Fine Arts College Council (FACC) and the Camera and Optics Photography Association (COPA) at the University of Florida are pleased to offer Language, Tone, and Substance: Strategies for Funding Your Art Practice for School of Art + Art History students. Sean Donaher, curator and arts administration professional, will be giving this one-time only grant-writing workshop on February 23 from 3-5 pm in Fine Arts Building C, Room 103 (FAC 103). Donaher will guide participants through the steps necessary to create a cohesive, comprehensive and competitive grant for funding in the arts and humanities.
